What is Balguti?
Balguti (also spelt Balkadu or Bal Guti) is a classical Ayurvedic formulation designed specifically for newborns, infants, and young children. The word "Bal" means "baby" in Sanskrit, and "Guti" refers to a herbal paste. It is one of the oldest paediatric formulations in Ayurvedic medicine, referenced in ancient texts like the Kashyapa Samhita.
It is typically administered as a few drops dissolved in breast milk, water, or honey, making it easy to give to newborns.
What does Balguti contain?
Traditional Balguti contains 21 selected Ayurvedic herbs carefully balanced for infant safety. Green Pharmacy's Balguti includes herbs known for their digestive, immunity-building, and calming properties, including:
- Ativish
- Kakadshingi
- Ashwagandha

- Muradsheng
All ingredients are processed as per classical Ayurvedic methods in our GMP-certified facility and approved by FDA Maharashtra.

How is Balguti given to babies?
The standard practice is to rub these herbs (as directed on the pack) in a few drops of breast milk, A2 cow's milk, or honey and administer them before or after feeding. Many families give it first thing in the morning.
For children over 6 months, it can also be given with warm water. Always follow the dosage on the label or as directed by your Ayurvedic practitioner.
Is Balguti safe for newborns?
Green Pharmacy's Balguti is manufactured in our FDA and GMP certified facility, following classical Ayurvedic formulations that have been used safely for thousands of years. It is free from synthetic additives, artificial colours, and harmful chemicals.
That said, we always recommend consulting your paediatrician or Ayurvedic doctor before starting any supplement for your newborn, especially in the first few weeks of life.
